About Miguel

Meet Miguel Mapalad:

Filipino mountaineer
taking on Everest.

For years, he's carried our flag to peaks most will never see. Just him, the mountain, and an unshakeable belief that he belonged there. Now he's facing Everest. The mountain that separates dreamers from legends.

Miguel's Journey

Some dreams take root quietly and grow in silence.

Miguel's Everest dream began long before he had the means to chase it. It lived in him through every smaller peak, every training climb, every moment others said it was impossible. This isn't just about reaching the top. It's about proving that quiet determination can move mountains.

What He Carried

A Taste of Home at Everest’s Summit

Miguel chose to carry weight that wasn't essential for survival. He chose to carry home. Our corned beef traveled from a small stall at Salcedo Market to the roof of the world, because sometimes what feeds the soul matters more than what feeds the body.

The Send-Off

There are goodbyes, and then there are promises.

Before Miguel left, people gathered not to say farewell, but to make a pact. We'll hold space for you here while you chase the impossible there. No fanfare. Just the weight of an entire community saying: you don't climb alone.

Why We Believed

We saw ourselves in
his impossible dream.

Miguel walked into our world with the same hunger we recognized from our own beginning. The audacity to start small but refuse to stay small. When someone carries that fire, you don't ask questions. You fuel it.

Climbing Together

What Connected Us

Miguel's mountain was literal. Ours was metaphorical. Both required the same thing: the courage to keep climbing when everyone else thought we'd gone far enough.

He Made It

On May 18, 2025, Miguel Mapalad stood where few humans ever will.

He joins the courageous Filipinos who've faced Everest before him, those who reached the summit and those who gave everything trying. Each name in that history made Miguel's climb possible.

Twenty-nine thousand feet above sea level. Above the clouds, above doubt, above every voice that ever said it couldn't be done. The boy from the Philippines touched the sky.

Home at the Summit

At the highest point on Earth, comfort from home made the journey complete.

The familiar taste that reminded him why he climbed, where he came from, and who was waiting for him to return. Sometimes the smallest piece of home carries the biggest meaning.

Your Voices Climbed Too

Notes to the Top

While Miguel faced the mountain, you faced blank walls in our stores. You filled them with words he'd never read until he came home. Messages that traveled in his heart, not his pack. Every prayer, every hope, every "we believe in you" carved into the mountain alongside his footsteps. We're binding those words into something permanent. A book that proves what we always knew: Miguel never climbed alone.

This is what happens when a community catches a dream. This is the Filipino spirit that moves mountains, one step at a time.

A piece of history you can hold.

Ranch Style Corned Beef
Everest edition

To commemorate Miguel's historic achievement, we've created a limited edition Delimondo Everest can. The same taste that traveled to the summit, now available in packaging that honors the journey.

Supporting a Cause Close to Miguel's Heart

A portion of proceeds from every limited edition can sold will support Sagamartha Pollution Control Committee and Pacific Coastal trail outreach program, causes that reflects Miguel's commitment to keep the mountains worth climbing.

Just like Miguel carried comfort to the top of the world, these proceeds will carry hope to the Everest Clean Up Project and protection of local trails.

Limited quantities available. Each can represents not just a taste of home, but a chance to support something meaningful.
